10:45-11:30 (GST) Climate finance for gender equality
Women and girls in the Global South are disproportionately affected by the impact of climate change. Despite having a crucial role in their communities, women have less economic, political influence and they rely more on natural resources for their livelihood, especially in rural areas, making them more exposed to the impacts of climate change. In this event, we bring together actors to discuss the role of climate finance to tackle gender equality.
On the stage: Anne Beathe Tvinnereim (Minister of International Development, Norway), Chiedza Mazaiwana (EEP Africa), Zonibel Woods (Asian Development Bank), Dennis van der Veur (European Institute for Gender Equality), Amalie Holmefjord (UNFCCC Youth Delegate) and Leena Klossner (NDF).
Location: Nordic Pavilion, Blue Zone (Opportunity petal, Zone 6, Building 75)

16:00-16:45 (GST) Blended finance to mobilise private investment to climate adaptation
Although climate finance has reached its record high, it is still falling short of what is needed, especially in lower income countries and countries in fragile situations. Through Nordic action, we help unlock private sector investments through blended finance, public-private partnerships, and matching concessional grants for investments. In this event, we present examples of how this has helped the climate action.
This event is hosted in partnership with Convergence.
On the stage: Ville Tavio (Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of Finland), Joan Larrea (Convergence), Benjamin Diokno (Secretary of Finance, the Philippines), Marc-André Blanchard (CDPQ) and Karin Isaksson (Nordic Development Fund).
