Nordic insights: Key role of catalytic and early-stage financing for climate solutions

COP30 is a milestone event aiming to reinforce multilateralism and international collaboration, connect climate change to individuals and the economy, accelerate national climate commitments and implementation and mobilise more and better-quality climate finance, through the ambitious Roadmap from Baku to Belém.

In our event at the Nordic Pavilion at COP30, we aim to showcase our global work and through an active engagement of our strategic partners activate our global partners such as MDBs, private sector, Nordic stakeholders and project beneficiaries from the Global South. We will focus on showcasing how we support innovation and early-stage catalytic climate financing by discussing examples of the impact of our projects. The event will talk about the important role of the Nordic collaboration in mobilising climate finance for development.

Focusing on early-stage catalytic climate financing and innovation, we gather Nordic and global partners to discuss best practices to support transformative climate solutions to benefit vulnerable regions and communities.

On the stage:

  • Satu Santala, Managing Director, Nordic Development Fund
  • Hans Olav Ibrekk, Special Envoy for Climate and Security at Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • Sashi Jayatileke, Senior Director at World Climate Foundation's IMCA Secretariat
  • Louise Herrmann, Lead Policy Specialist for Environment and Climate at SIDA
  • Stacy A. Swann, Managing Director, Division Chief of Blended Finance at IDB Invest

Location: Nordic Pavilion (D148), UNFCCC Blue Zone
