Mobilising climate finance at scale: Dragons' Den for Catalytic Investment

How can catalytic capital unlock climate investment at the speed and scale needed? At COP31, NDF and the Investment Mobilisation Collaboration Alliance (IMCA) is arranging an interactive Dragons' Den-style session bringing climate-focused fund managers face-to-face with public and private financiers, donors, and development finance institutions. Selected funds will pitch investment ideas seeking catalytic and concessional capital to de-risk investments and mobilise private finance for high-impact climate solutions in emerging markets and developing countries. Through direct dialogue, the session will test investment concepts, explore opportunities for collaboration and co-financing, and examine what it takes to move promising climate solutions towards investment and scale.

Nature-positive climate finance – Towards investable reality

How can climate finance turn nature-positive ambitions into investable solutions? Humanity cannot thrive without healthy, functioning natural systems; protecting and restoring nature and biodiversity is therefore fundamental to climate resilience, risk management, and our collective future. Building on the Nordic Climate Dialogues 2026, this session will explore practical partnerships and financing approaches for scaling climate-resilient, nature-positive solutions.

We will focus on the growing need to align climate action with nature outcomes, highlighting innovative and catalytic financing approaches that mobilise additional capital for projects delivering climate resilience and biodiversity protection. Through concrete examples and open dialogue, the session will showcase how partnerships can help scale nature‑positive solutions and shape future climate finance markets.

On the stage:

  • Satu Santala, Managing Director, Nordic Development Fund
  • Hans Olav Ibrekk, Special Envoy for Climate and Security at Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • Annika Markovic, Engagement and Impact Director, Stockholm Environment Institute
  • Mark Napier, CEO, FSD Africa
  • Laura Lopez Torres, Program Lead, The Dutch Fund for Climate and Development (DFCD), World Wildlife Fund
