Travel
By public transport
Helsinki area public transport is very reliable, with a variety of ticketing options. If you plan to make several journeys during one day, a day ticket for the ABC region will allow you to travel most places you will go (including the airport, Hanaholmen and Helsinki centre). There are also multiple day passes available for a longer stay.
Please note that HSL's public transport network is cashless unless you buy the ticket at HSL's dedicated offices. You can only check in with a debit card, credit card, or an HSL card. For more information on public transport schedules and other routes, visit the Journey Planner.
From the airport
Trains I and P serve the Helsinki Airport; the station is directly under the airport. Trains run every 10 minutes Monday-Saturday and every 15 minutes on Sundays. From the airport, you will go to the Helsinki Central Railway Station, where you will take a Metro to the Koivusaari station. Hanaholmen is 1.1 km from the station. The total journey will take about an hour.
From the centre: You can take the Metro to Koivusaari (4 stops from the railway station in the direction of Matinkylä. Hanaholmen is 1.1 km from the station. You can also take the bus 121 and 121A from Kamppi to Hanaholmen. Check HSL Journey Planner for the bus timetable.
By car from the airport
Hanaholmen sits just off Länsiväylä/Hangontie (route 51). Take the Hanaholmen exit from the motorway. There are plenty of parking spaces at Hanaholmen, both just outside the Main Entrance and further away. Parking is free and there are two charging stations for electric cars.
If you are coming by taxi or following GPS, be sure to search for Hanaholmen Espoo as there is also a place in Helsinki called Hanaholmen.
The drive from the airport is about 23 minutes.
