17:30-18:45 Private Sector Mobilization: New Instruments and Ideas
This panel discussion discusses innovative public-private financial structures to catalyse private sector investments. The event highlights interesting initiatives, discusses challenges in attracting private investors, and showcases working instruments, such as the Emerging Market Climate Action Fund (EMCAF).

18:00-19:00 SOFF: Innovative Finance Facility to Close Weather and Climate Data Gaps
The event presents the newly established Systematic Observation Financing Facility (SOFF), seeking to address the long-standing problem of missing weather and climate observations from Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States. By leading to more accurate weather forecasts and climate services, including early warnings, SOFF will improve globally countries’ capacity to predict and adapt to extreme weather events such as floods, droughts and heatwaves.
The event will also provide an opportunity to hear the voices of beneficiary countries on the benefits that SOFF will deliver in their countries; to have a discussion on the scientific and socio-economic benefits of SOFF implementation; and for funders to make announcements of financial contributions to the SOFF UN Multi Partner Trust Fund.

19:15-20:30 Nordic Finance Reception: Wrapping up the Finance Day
The three Nordic financing institutions, NDF, Nefco and NIB, welcome you to an evening reception at the Nordic Pavilion to wrap up the Finance Day. We will share our reflections and would love to hear yours.

13:00-14:00 The Africa Climate Resilient Investment Facility (AFRI-RES): Results, lessons learned, and ways forward
The event, organized by the World Bank and UNECA, will showcase the suite The Africa Climate Resilient Investment Facility (AFRI-RES) products that have been developed and how they can be used to improve resilience in investments in key sectors in Africa. Through the event, we seek to explore new partnerships for tools and capacity for integration of climate resilience in investments in Africa and how to harness the ‘resilience dividend’ through climate finance.

13:00-14:30 Circular Economy - Solutions to turn climate ambition into action
Circular Economy (CE) involves avoiding excessive consumption, waste and use of fossil fuels including by reusing, repurposing and recycling existing materials and products, and recovering embedded energy when other preferable options are not possible. As a green growth strategy, it has tremendous potential to contribute to climate change mitigation e.g. through climate smart agriculture and sustainable forestry.
This event, hosted by the African Development Bank and GGGI, will discuss how African countries can include CE in the national development strategies, to contribute to job creation and improved conditions for people, to raise the profile of waste management interventions for climate mitigation and adaptation and highlight access to finance.
